Are you bored of the same old bedroom but can’t be doing with an expensive overhaul? Well, there are many cheaper ways to revamp your bedroom, which can do the trick. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of creative inspiration and some time and effort, and you can make your bedroom look so much nicer.
Paint
Paint can be used on pretty much any item in your house. It’s relatively inexpensive and can totally revamp your room. Clearly, you could repaint the walls. With the right roller, this could be finished in one weekend. However, how about repainting your tired-looking furniture? A lick of paint her and there can go a long way. If you are bored of your current furniture, paint can make it seem new again. You don’t need to stick to the normal colors either. Why not go for some bright colors that will liven up your room. You could do this with the walls too. Think about decals too, which you can put on the walls or furniture.
Reposition Your Furniture
Why not try a few new positions for any movable furniture. Sometimes a little readjustment can make the room seem so much larger, allowing more light in. If you have any large pieces of furniture blocking windows or lighting, for example, you should move these anyway. You may want to think about how air flows about the room too. Think a little bit Feng Shui and get rid of any furniture that doesn’t belong. By doing this, you may well make the room far more relaxing.
A Rug
If your carpet has seen better days, or you are simply just fed up with the sight of it, there is no need to replace the whole lot. You can easily purchase rugs of various colors, patterns, and shapes to fit any room. These liven up the room and usually feel a lot nicer on your feet. It is a great way to upgrade the look and feel of your room.
Lighting
Maybe you could get some different wattage bulbs or ones that emit a warmer hue. You’ll be amazed at the difference this can make to a room. It can change it from harsh to a lot more subdues. New lampshades can have the same effect too. In addition, a few well-placed lamps can enable the room to become more relaxing. Also thinking about having Bedside Reading lights installed for all you avid readers out there. This may actually encourage you to turn off the mobile, which is not conducive to a good night’s sleep, and open up that book you’ve meant to read forever.
Less is More
Perhaps all you really need to do is some decluttering. Over time all rooms can become cluttered with useless things. Old clothes and shoes should be given away or thrown out for starters. Then go through your drawers, anything that doesn’t belong in a bedroom or is simply rubbish you need to get rid of. The decluttering process is great because by creating a less cluttered space, you will have a less cluttered mind, enabling more restful sleep.
