Dealing With Your Love Life In Lockdown

The coronavirus has affected so much of our lives.  This includes how we work, how we live, how we experience love and intimacy.  The world at large has had to adapt to distancing measures that are also increasing daily.  The global epidemic has transformed our relationships and dating.  Weddings have been postponed.  Choices such as sending your child on a play date or meeting up for a date have become matters of life or death.

The internet has emerged as a lifeline to millions of people stuck indoors.  Enabling them to go on virtual yoga, start a new hobby or blow out candles on a birthday get together through facetime with friends and loved ones.  Some people are turning more to online dating and joining up to sites such as  Love Hertfordshire Singles,  Yorkshire Dating Site ,   Hertfordshire Sex Site , Essex Sex Site

This has been a popular way to still get to know people even though you can’t meet up with them yet, giving them the perfect opportunity to really know someone first.

Couples in a relationship are also facing difficulties and being at home together all of the time.  They may also have the added responsibilities of the children being at home as well.

We have no doubt seen many tips about finding time to have alone time a bubble bath etc.  Play games with your partner and hug and reassure and give each other massages.   These are all great, but they do not help everyone.

For some couples it may be difficult at this time to do this especially if they have children at home too.  Also, the stress we all feel at this time about loss of income and worries about the future puts people into more survival mode which can make it more difficult to relax. Survival mode means getting ready to function through a bad stressful time.  This means we are not fully relaxed at all.

All couples are different and work differently though.  Some may have a wonderful loving relationship and love spending time together.  Others may enjoy their time away from each other and appreciate when they are together.

So, the answer to maintaining a healthy loving relationship does not lie in what you do but how you do it.  It means being compassionate and caring rather than arguing over how does the housework.  It means communicating with your feelings and being self-aware and making your feelings known to you partner, rather than keeping things bottled up.

Keeping intimacy during these difficult times are not about how often you get to have intercourse or what new positions you try.  It is about how each couple can adapt to the crisis we are in by coming together as a team rather than becoming more distant.  Taking turns to do the housework, taking care of the children, pets and providing reassurance and comfort.

This is a challenging time for families, individuals and couples.  This may be the perfect time to re connect with each other and really see what is important in their relationship and families.
