Sleigh rides and silver bells at the Christmas fair by Heidi Swain

I have heard a lot of good things about this author Heidi Swain so I bought the book Sleigh rides and silver bells at the Christmas fair for my Mum’s birthday in November. My Mum was thrilled with her gift and personalised bookmark I bought her too.

When my Mum had finished the book she let me read it and I was really looking forward to it. I was not mistaken! I thought this would be a Christmas book but no it is set around the time of Christmas but it has such a lovely storyline to it, that I think it would be a great read for any time of the year.

Meeting all the residents of Wynthorpe Hall was truly delightful and learning a little more about each of their characters as you got further in the book was perfect. Anna who is the main character goes to Wynthorpe Hall to escape the Christmas period but has the most magical time. I am actually jealous of her and wish I could visit there too! I felt like I really connected with each character.

This book made me cry in places and really moved me and other places made me smile a lot. The story kept me intrigued the whole way through and I cannot wait to read some more of Heidi Swain’s books.
