About the author
Gerard Nugent is a writer living in Yorkshire. ‘Let in the Light’ is his debut novel, although he has been writing songs for years. Gerard was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. He moved to England in his 20s and worked in various northern towns before settling in beautiful Yorkshire with his family and two guinea pigs. In 2019, he attended a writing class to help him generate ideas for further songwriting, but, instead, started writing a novel.

My review
Wow what a book! I absolutely loved this story. It had so many elements to it and so many wonderful messages. Richie is the main character and he is a musician. The relationships he makes along the way though are what made this book so special. He stumbles across being thrown into a band and fame then comes back to his home town. We see parts of Richie from then and now which make this story so unique. Now working in a music shop in Edinburgh on Hope street and living a more quiet life things get turned upside down again. I had tears while reading this book and other parts I was smiling and saying ‘Go on Richie’
I cannot wait to read more from this author. A Hope street series is in the pipeline and I will be first in the queue to get myself a copy.
