About the Author
C.S. Green is a pseudonym for Sunday Times and ebook bestseller Cass Green. Her first novel in the UCIT series, SLEEP TIGHT, was published in 2021 and THE WHISPER HOUSE is the second thriller featuring Detective Rose Gifford. She lives in London and also teaches creative writing classes at City University, and writes books for children under the name Caroline Green.
My review
This is my first book by this author, although I am now interested in reading her other ones. I would say it is crime based but a more supernatural thriller with elements of horror added. DC Rose Gifford has a traumatic background with an encounter that almost ended her life and we have some flash backs relating to that. She is now working as part of the UNIU which stands for Unchartered Crimes Investigation Unit. The team investigate a case of 42 Wyndham Terrace where all sorts of disturbing things have been happening. The family consists of the Father who is a strict disciplinarian and his wife who is quiet and their 12 year old son Gregory whose life consists of schooling and not much else.
C S Green has a great way of story telling and I found I connected with the main character that made me want to read on. It is tense and suspenseful, the twists and turns are perfect for this story. I liked how dark it could get and some of the descriptions were amazing. If you love thrillers with a touch of horror then this is for you.
