My review
This is the perfect Christmas read! Bella and Jack literally stumble across each other one Christmas, leading to a delightful twist of fate when she offers to be his plus one at a wedding, cleverly pretending to be his original date. As the story unfolds, the reader is taken on a journey that beautifully explores themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery.
Fast forward a year, and Bella has embarked on a new chapter in her life as a finance manager at Haileybrook, a quaint little village that seems straight out of a storybook. This new setting comes with its own set of surprises, introducing us to an array of quirky characters who bring richness and depth to the narrative. The interactions between Bella and the villagers are both humorous and heartwarming, making her journey all the more enjoyable.
I absolutely loved Bella’s character; her resilience and spirit shine throughout the book, making her relatable to anyone who has ever faced challenges. I found myself rooting for her the entire way through, eagerly turning pages to see how she would navigate both her professional life and her personal relationships. The author does a fantastic job of building tension and anticipation.
The ending was a complete surprise, yet it fitted in perfectly with the other parts of the book. It’s the kind of conclusion that leaves you with a smile, as it wraps up storylines while still allowing room for hope and possibility.
