Date Night Ideas While Social Distancing

While we all continue to come to terms with the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic around the world, many places still have some social distancing practices in effect and some are closed down altogether. Many of us have been using online dating apps and websites such as Hampshire Dating Site to still try and find that special someone. Finding fun and creative ideas for a virtual date night can be challenging.

Keeping the romance and passion alive in your relationship while you remain safe during this pandemic is still very important. Here are some date night ideas that you can do in the comfort of your own home or in an outdoor space that allows for plenty of social distancing.

1. Virtual Visit

There are many museum tours, aquariums, etc that are offering free virtual visits. This allows a unique opportunity to view places that are not local and you may not see otherwise or at least without having to travel a far distance. Taking a virtual tour also allows you and your partner to engage in good conversation about the art, landscape, animals, or scenery that you experience.

2. Game Night

Do you love abit of competition? Try a game night. You could have some games from when you were growing up or order some new ones. Something interactive like charades or maybe chess.

3. Outdoor Movie

You could create an outdoor movie space. Some people have outdoor TVs or projectors that work with your smartphone so you can view the movie from a blank wall. Lay down a blanket and pillows and snuggle up under the stars.

4. Picnic

Another fun thing to do outdoors is to have a picnic. You could also do a certain theme like tastes of Italy or sweet treats. Some times things that are simple like a picnic will be perfect to get to know one another and you will remember it.

Let your creativity blossom. Try having an art night both work on the same picture or project and compare at the end. Pinterest has loads of ideas you can use for inspiration. Connect via skype or zoom or facetime and have fun together.

6. Cooking

Many people love to cook and they have that one dish they have as their signature dish. If you cannot cook together at the moment get each other on a video call and each have the same ingredients and cook. Take it in turns to do each others favourite meal. This is a great way to bond and really get to know one another.

7. Mini Book Club

Each pick a book that you love and the other can read it, or just pick a book neither has read yet and read it. Do readalongs together and discuss the book as you are reading it. You can tell alot about someone by their choice of books.

8. Drink and Food Pairings

Try creating an interesting selection of food and drink pairings, such as local wine & artisan cheeses or your favourite tea and biscuits, whatever you like more. This can be a great way to start conversations by giving you something to talk about and share your feelings with your date. You can also see what your date likes and doesn’t like.

9. Netflix and Chill

Decide on a movie together and sit down virtually to watch it together. You can both take it in turns picking the movie and you might find some real gems of movies that you haven’t ever watched before. This is also a great conversation starter as you can go in depth about what you liked and didn’t like in the movie.
