Even though we are in a pandemic now doesn’t mean that people are not still thinking about finding their true love still. Especially at time like this we miss interacting with people as we once did. Finding a special someone amongst all of this would be amazing!
Think about when we are out of the pandemic though be realistic about how far you would travel for someone. Would you like a long-distance relationship, or would a local connection be more realistic? Most people set their mile radius on their dating websites to say 20-50 miles away, so it gives you plenty of options.

I live in Norfolk but for example I would also include Suffolk dating into my profile as I would travel a little way to find someone special. Even if you are looking for just companionship, then there is a wide range of people online waiting to speak to others.
We are all hoping that 2021 will be a better year than the one we have just had! It hopefully won’t be long, and people will be able to meet up in person again and not have to rely just on the online world to connect with people.

- Be clear about what you are looking for. Do not settle for anything less! If you only want a friend or companionship, then let the person you are chatting to know this then there are no miss communication between you.
- Try and date locally as this will be more realistic in the long run. If you live in Norfolk or Suffolk, then chatting to someone in Yorkshire is all well and good but do you or they really want a long-distance relationship when all the restrictions end.
- Get to fully know someone online before you go on a date with them. Make sure you have things in common with one another and feel comfortable with each other.
- Be safe! Dating online when you haven’t ever done it before can seem very strange to some people, chatting to strangers! But make sure you are using a dating website that has been used by others and take it slowly.
- Tell your family and your friends that you are on a dating website. That way when you do want to have your first date you can tell them where you are to always remain safe.
- Add more than one photograph. This will show people that you are real and haven’t stolen a picture off google (yes it does happen!) It is also your first impression to someone looking at your profile so make it the best you can.
- Always be authentic! Do not use filters on your photographs that make you look twenty years younger because one day they will want to meet up and you won’t look like the person they have been chatting to. Also don’t lie about things you have done and what you do for a living. You will be in a better position if you are truthful and have more success finding a lasting relationship with someone.
- Use this time we have now to really get to know the people you are connecting with. Ask questions and really get to know what they are like and what their lives are like. This way you will see if you are compatible.
- Don’t be discouraged by having to talk to lots of different people before you speak with someone that you really connect with. Like with anything the more effort you put in the more you will get out of it.
- Never ever feel pressured to give out your phone number or to meet up! If anyone is making you feel this way, then just politely refuse. If they really want to get to know you then they will wait to meet up with you.
